What is LPG?

LPG is an environmentally friendly fuel with its low CO ₂emissions feature and it consists of oil and natural gas. The meaning of word is liquefied petroleum gas. It is colorless and odorless, but it has odorization at refineries so that it can be noticed instantly from the smell during leaking. In our country, its compositions are usually of 70% butane and 30% propane. This mixing ratio may vary according to season or where LPG gas station is received. It is a flammable gas heavier than air. 1litre of liquid LPG, under normal circumstances, reaches 250litre gas volume in the open air. It can only be stored as a liquid under pressure..

Does LPG cause odor in the car?

A car with LPG does not definitely release the smell of LPG in the vehicle. For this, there must be a leak in the system. If you feel like a smell in your car, we recommend you an authorized service technician to take control of a gas leak without wasting time. .

Does the use of Autogas damage the engine?

On the contrary, LPG helps to protect the engine and combustion chambers because it does not leave acid and carbon deposits at engine as a result of the combustion.

Why is the Autogas eco-friendly?

LPG, which is located in alternative fuels, being burned in the combustion chamber of vehicles at the maximum level, helps you and future generations to live in a clean world with its low CO ₂emissions feature.

What is the sequential system?

It is the runtime system controlling sequential elements of the ignition system (parts such as injectors, etc.) with the operation of the car's electronic control unit (ECU) and it organizes combustion in the cylinder according to the vehicle's fuel and timing of opening injectors as to the sequential ignition system specifying the period of time they are open by giving signals.

Does all sequential LPG conversion systems have the same features?

Sequential conversion systems show differences and similarities between brands. These differences and similarities might be related with the mechanical design of the parts of the system, design for ease of installation and the range of products that is enriched for a variety of vehicles. While all brands has the same general principles of operation, the differences of R & D activities carried out on these principles also differentiates the quality of work. In addition, even when mounted by two different services the same system; experiences, applications and information of authorized service who performs the conversion, program usage and result you will get may vary. Does a vehicle with LPG montage also consume fuel?

A vehicle with sequential system can consume fuel according to the settings after the conversion is made, the vehicle characteristics, and the specifications of LPG conversion system installed. Each vehicle that has LPG sequential system transformation first run with petrol until the car warms up within the period determined by the settings and then automatically switches to LPG. Carburetor vehicles use LPG fuel in the first run-time. We recommend running on gasoline 20 miles a week especially on cars with carburetor so that fuel systems will not dry out and remain running. In addition, at least ¼ percent petrol should be continuously kept in petrol tanks of all LPG converted vehicles for the same reason.

How is fuel economy at vehicle which had LPG conversion?

A vehicle with LPG conversion consumes LPG, per liter, close to the rates of gasoline when it makes a way. However, with regards to fuel prices per liter and price advantage of LPG fuel, LPG vehicle users makes savings at the high proportion. According to the model and the power of your car, you can get the most detailed information on savings after LPG conversion from our authorized services.

I had my car converted. How do I know whether the correct conversion has been made or not

A good LPG Cangas Installation must demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Fuel saving.
  • The car should not have the difficulty in working in the morning.
  • The system should not run on gasoline spontaneously and unexpectedly while cruising down the road with LPG.
  • There must not be any performance loss.
  • The system should not have frequent failures.
What should I consider before making LPG conversion?

Whether or not the conversion point you receive service has the proper application.
ifthe brand's product you use could protect you with product and labor insurances
How it serves at spare parts and warranty service of the product you use in the brand's
whether the engine warranty which can be granted only by the insured conversion services is given or not (this insurance does not cover the car’s own flaws)

By whom the LPG conversion must be done? What is an authorized service?

For more information about how the right authorized service should be, please refer to the tab on customer information.

Does LPG explode? How safe is it?

An explosion possibility of a vehicle with LPG is lower than the explosion probability of a vehicle with gasoline. In other words, LPG vehicle does not explode. In Cangas conversion systems, the following measures have been taken for this:

The LPG tank is a pressure vessel tested at the production stage to measure resistance during an impact and is only sold when it is sure that adequate security is provided. The matter that should be noted related to tanks:the life of the tanks is as of 10 years from the date of production. After this time a new tank installation must be made in an authorized service.

To assure the safety of the tank, Cangas conversion systems are offered for sale including the tank. There is a solenoid gas valve on the LPG system. This valve is located on the gas way between regulator (evaporator) and the tank. The valve shuts off gas flow automatically in case of an accident or voluntary suspension of the vehicle.

Pressure discharge valve in Cangas floats safely reduces system pressure by discharging gas when the pressure increased and prevent explosion. System provides the prevention of explosion resulting from instant high pressure during impact moments.
Another gas valve on the float allows disruption of gas flow when the engine is stopped.
Soluble lead stopper on the float provides fire safety.
Floats only permit gas filling into the tanks up to 80% of the volume. After this amount it automatically cut filling. Thus, the space is created to tolerate temperature difference and pressure changes that may occur in the tank.

Is LPG used as fuel for vehicles in Europe and in the world?

Yes, it is frequently used. In addition, it is being promoted by various tax breaks and financial support in Europe.
You can see rates on the use in the following chart.

What are the differences between LPG and petrol?

Gas increases the greenhouse effect by causing high CO ₂emissions and this is one of the reasons of global warming. It is predicted that it has a 40-year life.LPG consists of oil and natural gas, and is an environmentally friendly fuel with its low CO ₂emissions feature. Today, it is the most widely used alternative fuel in Europe.

Why does LPG operate late at cold weather

LPG is kept as a liquid under pressure in the fuel tank. to convert it to energy in engine it must pass to the gas phase. This is performed by heating gas at the regulator with the water taken from vehicle's cooling system.

The sequential system vehicles do the first work with gasoline, so working late in the morning does not happen. After the motor reaches a certain temperature, the vehicle automatically passes to gas operation mode.

Can fuel pump be stopped while LPG is working?

We disapprove to stop working of the vehicle's original parts with LPG system use and we do not apply it as well. There is no benefit provided to LPG system or the vehicle by stopping the fuel pump. by keeping ¼ percent gasoline in fuel tank of a vehicle running on LPG, the fuel pump will not work as dry and will not be damaged in any way.

Does LPG damage the vehicle's ignition system?

No, Cangas LPG conversion systems do not damage the vehicle's ignition system. The ignition system is the most important system to get the maximum efficiency of a vehicle. There is not a difference in ignition while vehicle uses LPG and gasoline. On the contrary, the defective parts of the ignition make themselves feel more while working on LPG. This also allows early diagnosis of a problem in the ignition system and provides the production of a solution.

Why does LPG smell?

For detecting gas leakage to be occurred, odorless LPG especially has the odorization in refineries.

Just got my car but it consumes lots of LPG. Why?

When the right product is mounted in good hands, also as a result of making adjustments well you will not possibly experience fuel problem. In conversions you made with Cangas conversion systems at authorized service centers you will not have this type of problems.

If you are having a problem on the increase in fuel due to the LPG system settings, our authorized dealers will notice it and produce solution immediately.

if the fuel consumption is more though LPG system is running perfect, there may be a fault in the ignition system components of the vehicle.

The vehicle does not pull on LPG and have difficulty, why?

You will not have such a problem in Cangas Conversion Systems if you did not delay LPG system maintenance and vehicle maintenance.

In general, if the LPG vehicle does not draw, there could be several reasons. First, it should be checked if proper air-fuel mixture is proper. The ignition system should be reviewed, and the settings must be done by the experts. Usually, drawing problem disappears when these two problems solved.

At which km should be the oil and spark plugs changed in LPG vehicles?

Oil and spark plug care should be done at existing diesel treatments in LPG vehicles. So, spark plugs and oil treatments should be done at every 10 thousand kilometers. Under normal circumstances, deformation of spark plugs and oil does not occur after the use of LPG in the vehicle. There is not a change in the oil color. No deformation of spark plugs is seen. But it must be replaced when they fill their life because they lost their properties. Oil and spark plug for LPG vehicles do not differ..
